Skol Wildheart 94
New from the Skol Knives Workshop – K460 Bushcraft Knife with Stag Antler & English Yew
Every now and then a knife comes together that perfectly reflects what Skol Knives is all about – practical design, premium materials, and traditional craftsmanship. This latest build is one of those knives.
The blade is crafted from K460 carbon tool steel, measuring 95mm long and 4mm thick, with a classic Scandi grind that excels at controlled woodworking, feather sticks, carving, food preparation, and all-round bushcraft tasks.
K460 has earned a superb reputation among custom knife makers. Often compared to O1 tool steel, it offers excellent edge retention, outstanding toughness, and takes an incredibly keen edge. If you've used O1 before, you'll feel right at home with K460, but many makers find it holds that razor edge just a little longer while remaining easy to sharpen in the field.
The handle combines two beautiful natural materials. A section of stag antler provides strength and texture, while English yew adds warmth, character, and unique grain patterns that ensure no two knives are ever the same. Brass pins complete the construction, giving the knife a traditional appearance that will age gracefully over years of use.
To finish the package, the knife comes with a handcrafted leather sheath, made to protect the blade while being comfortable to carry whether you're in the woods, on a shoot, or around camp.
Built to Be Used
At Skol Knives, I don't build display pieces. Every knife is designed to earn its place on your belt and become a trusted companion in the outdoors. Whether you're processing firewood, preparing camp meals, carving tent pegs, or simply enjoying time in nature, this knife is ready for the job.
Preparing for The Game Fair
With The Game Fair fast approaching, the workshop is running flat out. This K460 bushcraft knife is one of a number of new handcrafted knives that will be available to see in person. If you're attending, I'd love for you to stop by the Skol Knives stand, handle the knives, chat about steels and craftsmanship, and see what goes into making each one.
Every knife I make is handcrafted from start to finish here in the UK, using carefully selected materials and built with one aim in mind:
Built to be used.
