Commission from Redline in Calgary – 12 Custom Bushcraft & Hunting Knives
I’m really pleased to share some great news — I’ve just received a commission from Redline, a company based in Calgary, Canada, for twelve custom bushcraft and hunting knives. It’s a real honour to have my work recognised by a business on the other side of the world, and I’m excited to start building this collection for them.
Each knife will be handmade here at Skol Knives, using my favourite steels — 1095, 80CrV2, and AEB-L stainless. These are proven performers for serious outdoor users: tough, dependable, and capable of taking a razor-sharp edge. The goal with this batch is to combine bushcraft strength with the precision and balance needed for hunting and field dressing.
The Redline knives will feature a mix of traditional and modern designs, each one shaped, ground, and heat-treated by hand. Every blade is going through the same attention to detail that goes into all my custom builds — from the heat treat and tempering to the hand-sanded finish and final edge.
Projects like this are what I love most about knife making — taking an idea and turning it into a practical, reliable tool built to last a lifetime. It’s great to know these knives will be put to real use out in the Canadian wilderness.
